Hotel Questionnaire

      Please rate the following questions from 0 to 3 using the following scale:

0=definitely not important

1=barely important

2=50/50 importance, go along with group

3=very important

1.      Separate “Hospitality” Room (Member provided “refreshments”)

2.      Kitchenette included

3.      Breakfast included

4.      Suite as opposed to basic single room

5.      Cost

6.      Availability to have private barbeque conducted by members

7.      Private Barbeque by hotel as opposed to member cooking

8.      Swimming Pool (Most outdoor pools open Memorial Day)

9.      Near subway/Metro for individual trips to DC proper

10.  Nearby restaurants for individual or group use

11.  Near Dulles Airport for ease of transport

12.  Near Reagan (National) Airport for ease of transport

Please provide expected number of nights stay anticipated.

Please provide choice if 4 nights “official” stay: middle of week as opposed to weekend (Rates are approximately 20% lower during the weekend)

HOTEL RESERVATIONS

Greetings Ole Noble Classmates,

After much cajoling, payoffs, threats and intimidations, we have a reunion hotel. Class 61-09 will assemble May 18-21 at the Crown Plaza of Herndon Hotel near the Dulles Intl. Airport. Our intrepid on site commanders (Speer and Shuts) cut us a pretty tight deal at a hotel often frequented for military reunions. You will like the location near the airport, especially if you travel a considerable distance. Now for the details (it’s all in the details).

The room rate is $89 USD per night and if you opt for the hot breakfast you need to add on an additional $10/person/per breakfast. I wonder if they have real Virginia ham with red eye gravy? This room rate will apply beginning on May 17, 2011 through May 20, 2011, and…..if you chose to arrive early or stay late, the rate will apply for 4 nights either side of this period. Such a deal!

Now you ask, “How do I sign make our reservations?” Pick up the twisted pair and call 1-866-667-0326 (or 1-703-674-0452) and speak to the group coordinator – Mrs. Melissa Geter. If you are shy and not inclined to speak with strange beautiful women, you can make your reservation by e-mail at Melissa.geter@cwhotels.com. All reservations must be made on or before May 1, 2011 to take advantage of these great rates.

You must advise the person taking the reservation that you are with the Air Force 61-09 Reunion group. Credit card information is required to hold the reservation, but you will not be charged until you check out.

I plan to arrive the area a day early to assist the on-site boys and to generally make a nuisance of myself. We are currently pondering activities of interest to the group. Your suggestions regarding activities are most appreciated. Some of us have discussed a possible trip to Gettysburg or down the Shenandoah Valley after our dismissal. Love to make this also a group endeavor.

We assemble at 0900 on Wednesday May 18 and dismiss at 1200 on Saturday May 20, 2011 – three nights.
